Stile and Rail Router Bits

Scroll down to see the bit sets for sale.

These bit sets are made primarily for the purpose of manufacturing kitchen cabinet doors. But as you can see in the free article on this site Curved Cope and Stick Joinery certain of these types of bit sets can be used to make curved parts for glass frames. The sets listed here will do this. The first is a stacking reversible set, where you use the same cutter for both the cope and stick cuts by rearranging it on the arbor. The second set shown here has two bits, one for cope and one for sticking. This is the better way to go if you are going to make a lot of parts, so you can set up two router tables and not change setups. But if you are just making one or two frames get the stacking reversible because it's less expensive.

But there is one more reason to consider the double bit sets. They give you more choice in the profile cut into the part edges. The reversible can only use a symetrical ogee pattern because the same bit does both the cope and stick cuts. With two bits you don't have this limitation and can make an asymetrical pattern like a bead with a lip.

All bits listed here are high quality carbide bits that will last a long time.
